What to pack?
Clothing requirements vary according to season and destination. Shorts, swimsuits, sunglasses and sunscreen are a must at the seaside. Don’t forget your hiking boots if you’re planning to walk on trails, especially in the mountains. A cap, windbreaker, small rucksack and toiletries kit are also important items to include in your suitcase.
Special camping equipment
If you’re a fan of traditional camping and intend to pitch your tent, remember to bring along :
- Flashlight (preferably headlamp),
- A gas stove with refills,
- Lighter or matches,
- A cooler,
- Crockery (glass or disposable),
- Pots, pans and kitchen utensils (cutlery, corkscrew, can opener, bottle opener…),
- Garbage bags,
- A sponge, cloth and washing-up liquid,
- A Swiss Army knife,
- Folding table and chairs,
- Sheets, blankets, pillows and possibly a mattress,
- Floor mats,
- Extension cords, coffeemaker and chargers if your pitch is equipped with electrical outlets,
- And, of course, your tent with pegs and sardines.
Finally, think about the specific needs of your family or group of friends: baby kits, card or board games, bicycles…
