Bicycle, car, camper van, motorcycle, scooter, bus, cab, catamaran, windsurf, stand-up paddle, kayak, kitesurf, jet-ski, boat, ULM, speedboat… On the Ile de Ré, everyone is free to explore as they please, whatever their age, whatever the weather and whatever the season.
During your stay at Ré la Blanche, you’ll also have the opportunity to use an original electric vehicle suitable for children: the gyropod.
The gyropod, a fun and versatile means of transport
It’s increasingly seen in major cities, where it offers an alternative to polluting vehicles and helps combat climate change. A gyropod, sometimes called a personal transporter, is a small electric vehicle with two wheels, handlebars and a small platform on which you stand.
While moving forward, of course. The very first Segway PT gyropod has crossed the bridge over the Ile de Ré and is now delighting tourists.
There are currently two companies offering gyropod rides on the Ile de Ré: Gyropode en Ré in Rivedoux-Plage and Atlantic Gyropode in Saint-Martin-de-Ré.
This eco-friendly vehicle, accessible to children and beginners alike, will enable you to explore this Charente-Maritime island treasure with family and friends while respecting nature. All rides are supervised by instructors.
