Thanks to its orientation, theIle de Ré receives swells from the open Atlantic. The island of Ré is a watersports paradise for beginners and professionals alike! All spots are accessible to all levels of practice, not far from the 4-star campsite on the Ile de Ré.
The waves on some of the island’s beaches attract surfers, as this sport is enjoying a new craze: they can throw themselves into the waves at Plage des Grenettes in Sainte Marie de Ré, Petit Bec and Pointe du Lizay in Les Portes en Ré. For beginners or advanced surfers, surf schools offer equipment rental and lessons on the beach in the Ile de Ré. Stand-up paddling is a new nautical activity that’s both easy to access and fun, allowing you to sail along the coast and discover some of the lesser-known landscapes of the Ile de Ré.

Located on the magnificent Peu Ragot beach in La Couarde sur mer, the Antoine Albeau school offers windsurfing and stand-up paddleboarding lessons, as well as catamaran, optimist and dinghy sailing.

Looking for a sailing school on the Ile de Ré?
Learn to sail with the CNCG(Centre Nautique Couardais du Goisil). With its enclosed children’s pool, the youngest can be accompanied in complete safety. Free baptisms are offered on Saturdays from 5pm to 7pm.
SUP Evasion :
The Sup Evasion stand-up paddle school is located on the Prises beach, 600m from the La Tour des Prises campsite.
Sup Evasion offers courses for children and adults, initiation, rental, Sup Yoga and Sup Fitness on the Prises beach in La Couarde sur Mer.
The school also organizes guided stand-up paddle excursions to discover the natural areas of the Ile de Ré. These outings are open to all ages and abilities, including beginners. These hikes are organized at high tide and must be booked in advance.
The school is open from April to November.

Ré Surf :
Learn to surf safely in a friendly atmosphere on the Ile de Ré. Ré Surf, L’Ile de Ré’s surf school, offers beginner and advanced surfing lessons for children and adults. To ensure the best possible surfing conditions, lesson times are set according to tide times at the two practice sites, Les Portes en Ré and Le Bois plage en Ré.
Ré Surf offers group lessons for groups of up to eight people. We also offer surf lessons to discover or perfect your surfing skills on the Ile de Ré in Charente Maritime. Ré Surf offers surfing courses adapted to the trainee’s motivation, level and physical condition.

Surf’in Ré, the surf school on the Ile de Ré
Surf’in Ré offers surfing lessons on the Pas des Boeufs beach at Le Bois Plage en Ré and on the Lizay beach at Les Portes en Ré in summer.
In a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, Nicolas, Antoine and Johan will share their love of surfing with you via their high-quality surf lessons, for both beginners and advanced surfers, in the safest possible environment.
Level groups (up to 8 people): individual advice, waves adapted to learning, gliding from the 1st session, available from 6 years old.
You have several options:
- 2h each
- one-week course (5 x 2-hour sessions, Monday to Friday)
- weekend course (2 sessions of 2 hours each from Saturday to Sunday)
- unique “Surf itinerant” concept: Departure for 1/2 day of surfing, snacks, transport, technical analysis with photo and video feedback, good atmosphere, adventure and spot discovery. Departures from Ile de Ré and La Rochelle possible (except during summer vacation).
