Most holidaymakers who choose to stay on the island of Ré are looking to relax and reconnect with nature, away from the hustle and bustle of urban life and daily stress. For this reason, luxury campsites set in superb natural surroundings such as La Tour des Prises, an Ile de Ré seaside campsite, offering spacious, comfortable pitches and fully-equipped prestige accommodation, are in great demand during the summer months. As well as motorhome parks.

Naturism on the island
For some holidaymakers, harmony with nature is only truly possible when we eliminate the superfluous elements that surround us, including our clothes. This philosophy is the very essence of naturism.
Legislation governing naturism on the coast is often far from clear. Generally speaking, it’s up to the local authorities to decide whether naturism is forbidden or tolerated on their territory and, if the latter, to indicate the areas where it can be practiced.
La Batterie, naturism in total freedom
On the Ile de Ré, there’s only one beach where naturism is officially permitted: La Batterie. This naturist beach is located in La Couarde-sur-Mer near our Ile de Ré campsite, the only commune on the Ile de Ré that tolerates naturism.
If you’re a naturist, it’s important to stay on the Plage de la Batterie and not venture onto the nearby beaches of the Ile de Ré, especially the family-friendly Plage du Petit Sergent.
