The Maison du Fier or House for the Discovery of Natural Resources

Managed by the LPO on the Ile de Ré, the Lilleau des Niges National Nature Reserve welcomes thousands of migratory and sedentary birds every year… and just a stone’s throw from the Reserve, you can visit the Maison du Fier! It offers a wide range of discovery activities.

To do when visiting the Maison du Fier:

La Maison du Fier welcomes you to the very last salt shed on the Ile de Ré. Discover the “Ré, côté Nature” exhibition on the fauna, flora and landscapes of the Ile de Ré.
Take advantage of the opportunity to stroll around the edges of the nature reserve, where the path is freely accessible all year round. You’ll find geese and ducks in winter, and blue throats and common terns in spring.
When the Maison du Fier is open, you can also rent an audioguide to explore the trail and discover the educational markers.
