Managed by the LPO on theIle de Ré, the Lilleau des Niges National Nature Reserve welcomes thousands of migratory and sedentary birds every year… and just a stone’s throw from the Reserve, you can visit the Maison du Fier! It offers a wide range of discovery activities.
To do when visiting the Maison du Fier:
La Maison du Fier welcomes you to the very last salt shed on the Ile de Ré. Discover the “Ré, côté Nature” exhibition on the fauna, flora and landscapes of the Ile de Ré.
Take this opportunity to take a walk around the nature reserve; the trail that runs along the edge of the nature reserve is open to the public free of charge year-round. Among many other species, you’ll find: Canada geese and ducks in winter, blue-throated warblers and common terns in spring.
During the Maison du Fier’s operating hours, you can also rent an audio guide to explore the trail and learn from the educational markers.
